Whenever you are using your brakes in the rain it is always important to remember that they could slip.  What this means is that you should certainly increase the stopping distance between you and the car in front of you.  You also want to make sure that you brake a lot earlier and with a lot less force so the car behind you knows exactly what you are doing.

The rain is something that will slow you down and you should certainly make sure that you allow a lot of travel time as you will be driving at a slower pace than you are normally used to.  There will also be more traffic than what you are used to, so you want to make sure that you definitely allow yourself some more driving time.

One thing that you should take to heart is that you do not need to rush anywhere.  You want to take it slow, that way you do not get into any accidents.

Can we have a little talk about all of the rain that has been happening on the east coast lately?  Me, I just moved from Michigan to Mass and I have to say that this particular state got hit with rain and that made me think about how many people do not know how to drive in the rain.  So that is what the next few blogs are going to be about – driving in the rain!

Finally, extra fluids for your car are a fantastic thing to have.  Power steering liquid, oil, brake fluid and even windshield fluid are all necessities!

One of the first things that you need to do is make sure that you get your tires changed.  If you are like me and you live in a state that gets a heck of a lot of snow, you might want to make sure that you get yourself a set of four good – great snow tires.  Believe you me; it will certainly be the best in the world wand help you not get stuck in the snow.

Next, we are going to talk about roadside assistance and why it is important to have – especially in the wintertime!

Before you get on the road, you want to make sure that you get your car or truck checked over for any problems at all.  You also want to make sure that you get yourself some snow tires, as those are something that will absolutely assist you in the long run.

Next, you want to make sure that you put some extra clothes, food and beverages in your trunk along with some candles, flashlights and even some flares and a small shovel, just to ensure that if something does happen, you are prepared.
