The Ins and Outs of Antique Car Insurance

antique-carDrivers and/or car enthusiasts who have antique cars know that they have something special — and the majority of them know the importance of insuring their classic vehicle. Some do not, however, and those of you who are just becoming interested in the idea of purchasing and restoring an antique car of your own may not know how important insurance is, either.

You see, a lot of antique or vintage car owners are not even sure if they need antique car insurance. In truth, when you are talking about an antique car, rather than merely a classic one, the answer really depends on the actual age of your car. You see, to classify as an antique, the car has to be at least twenty five years or older. As always, of course, there are exceptions to this rule. The way you use the car is also a factor, as is its condition. The car’s value is an issue too — that is, is it valued as a vehicle, or is it valued as an actual collector’s item?

In more cases than not, if you drive your antique car, then antique car insurance may not be the best type of option. It is more for those who restore and take care of vintage vehicles.
